It's Sew Shiny! - Does It Work??

UPDATE:

Thanks for all of the great insight and ideas.  It really did help.

I ended up changing my approach and using a different photo (shown on the right) for the eBay listing to help illustrate the shine and condition.  It's simpler, but still makes ya stop and think about what you're looking at!

Hmmm.....I'm just not sure if this is a good idea......

Does this photo make "sense" to you?  I'm trying to illustrate the reflective shininess of the machine.  Is it too confusing, or does it "work"?

I likes em shiny! I love to see it when a seller has taken enough time to clean the machine up and picture it as pretty as possible... the reason? because it makes me think that the seller cares about what they are selling, they have probably looked over the machine and tried it, nothing wrong with hoping for good money from a sale. What makes me mad is to see a cruddy machine and top dollar and they don't even know if it sews.. I think your photos are marvelous darling, simply marvelous!

I think the reflection does a good job of illustrating the shinyness for sure, but it might be less "confusing" if you just had the reversed image that would be mirrored in the machine instead of two images. Wow, I need a shiny vintage Singer now...

I agree with Liz, that the multiple signs in back are "confusing". Perhaps just one smaller sign and show more of the beautiful machine.

It works for me! There's not much better than a beautiful, shiny black vintage Singer. Makes me happy just to look at one!

I just have to ask, how do you get such a beautiful shiny finish on your machines? After cleaning my machine it looks rather dull; how can I make it shiny again? Thank you

There's allot of elbow grease that goes into getting them clean- they won't shine if they aren't clean, and then I finish with a coat of carnauba wax.  - more than just adding shine, it helps protect the finish.

I like it with just the one side where it is reflected the "right" way in the surface of the extended bed. Beautiful! ~Page
