I'm a overall gear-head by nature. I've also been enjoying my sewing hobby for many decades.
This love of sewing, appreciation of well designed and quality built machines along with my proverbial desire to tinker, have lead me to own, refurbish, use, ENJOY and share vintage
sewing machines.
I am located in Northern Ohio, and when I'm not sewing or wrenching on sewing machines, I enjoy riding my Harley & spending time with family & friends.

Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!!
Well...I haven't really been hiding, but I have been very quiet here on my blog. Life's happenings just got in the way for a short time, but I'M BACK NOW! Thanks for the many kind emails and phone calls, the outpouring of kindness has been touching.
I'll be getting back to sewing and sewing machine stuff later today, but I did some "detoxing" this weekend and got out to enjoy the gorgeous autumn scenery in northern Ohio.

Here is an Amish farmstead in Holmes county near Walnut Creek Ohio. The cluster arrangement of several houses and barns is fairly typical. Several generations will live on one farm.

The farm above had this wagon full of pumpkins and gourds out front near the roadside. Obviously, that's not an Amish farmer headed done the road, but a local "English" farmer. (the Amish refer to us non-Amish as "English")

This is the courthouse in "downtown" Millersburg- the "capital" of Holmes county. It's a stunning piece of architecture, and looks lovely in the late afternoon autumn sun.

This is one weird water tank. Yes, it looks like a train on purpose.

Yeah, this looks staged, but it's not. This is a roadside pile of pumpkins outside the Miller's Buggy Shop in New Bedford Ohio near routes 643 & 651. Gotta love that homemade sign and the weathered siding.

Speaking of weathered buildings- check out this one. It's an old barn with the obligatory cow grazing out front (Rt. 94 just south of Wadsworth Ohio). The clouds were a little gray, gloomy and overcast, but I think it adds an interesting dimension to the photo.

I love the cloud formations above this old shed. This shot was taken down in Coshocton County.
I love fall in my part of the world, but I HATE that it means 5 or 6 months of crappy cold weather is just around the corner. YUCK!

Yes, only about 30 to 40 minutes from where I live, the country side starts looking lovely. Go another 45 minutes, and it's stunning!
The winters stink though.
I was up in Vermont once as a kid, but only go to check out the area along the ocean. It was Summer, and I remember the place being very picturesque. I was amazed at how clod the water was, even in mid summer.

It's so special to get out and really look at fall. I love it here in NM, golden aspens against evergreens, huge swatches of gold over green on the mountains. Ohio is lovely (I lived in Columbus for a year) but the NM sunshine is 360 days/year, which I love. Your dad would be glad for all you are living, i'm sure. Katie

Hi Jenny, just discovered this site yesterday when researching my 15-91 my husband bought me for my birthday. I have always been interested in vintage sewing machines as my grandmother had a Singer years ago. It didn't pass on to me but that didn't deter me from interest. Being in the military,I am a perpetual beginner as I have moved away from every instructor just when I feel like I was progressing. I'm sorry to hear about your dad's illness so it's good to hear he is getting better. Thank you for pressing on and getting back to the things you love. Now that I have found you, I will bookmark this site for future returns. God bless you and your family.

One drawer filled with loose accessories of which I have no clue yet. tools, etc..If had the original belt but, it broke on me as it was dry rot. I bought a new one to repair that and it works..Now the cleaning process starts..What would you recommend for a cleaning solution>? I don't want to runin the original gold lettering and designs..Thanks for any help.
