On the Sew-Classic Workbench- Singer Featherweight 221
UPDATE-The belt is here and this little cutie is DONE!
Just waiting on a new belt to arrive to put the finishing touch on the machine in the photo...........I have another featherweight (not pictured) that had such serious finish issues that It was one of the rare candidates (IMHO) for a repaint. It's going to be "cherry red". I don't like to repaint machines, but I hate to see a good machine "sent out to pasture" just because of a bad finish . Anyhow, it will be a fun machine when it's all done. Stay tuned!

Shirley you don't mean the one you depicted !
I'm not Shirley, but I can answer your question- NO!
The machine is the photo isn't going to get repainted. It's ANOTHER featherweight that is a canidate for that process. LOL!
Gorgeous machine, I am new to the Featherweight. What is the main use for this machine, quilting? piecing?
Thanks, Gwen
Yes....great for piecing. Due to it's small size, quilting with a featherweight is usually limited to smaller type quilts.
This is a gorgeous featherweight, I'll share this link with a friend of mine who is looking.

Elle
Hi,I just stumbled upon your blog and am loving it! I'm actually interested in painting a sewing machine (just as a novelty, not for original restoration)but have no idea how to go about it. Any links or advice?
I'm approaching it just like painting any other smooth, metal object (car, motorcycle, etc.). Good prep work and the right equipment along with some practice and experience will help you get the best results. A trip to your local library or a google search should bring up all sorts of information.
I agree; save the machine. By the way, does anyone know if there was centennial edition of the 301?
Thanks!
Hi, just want to congratulate you on the great blog, the info is fantastic, and I´m really trying to improve my sewing.
Thanks
