Vintage Singer Book - "A Manual of Family Sewing Machines" 1929

UPDATED (8/31/09) To add the FINAL section, PART FIVE- This section has some great reference material on the No. 306 Electric Combination Table for portable electric machines, Information about the No. 24 chain stitcher and a section covering the Singer 101 (precursor to the popular Singer 201)..

Here is yet another, terrific, vintage sewing publication that I have made available for you to download for free in pdf form. This original, Singer handbook was used in home economics and sewing classes of the day. The latest revision date on it is 1929.  It covers machine operation & settings, maintenance, using attachments and information about the various Singer models and cabinets of the day as well as basic sewing instruction.

Due to the number of pages, this is being broken down into five pdf sections.  This entry will be updated as the additional sections are added.

Hi! I'm an SM and you linked me to your lovely site here I was trying to print the above vintage manual but it wouldn't let me. Is there a way to print it? I just find it easier to look at and pull out when needed.

    Thanks!

Here's the deal, if I made this a printable copy, people would steal it and sell it on eBay in a heartbeat.  As it stands, there are TWO eBay listings right now with watermarked, copyright protected photos of mine and "copy & pasted", plagiarized text from this blog being used without authorization by others.  Unfortunately, a few bad apples do have an impact on everyone else.

I spent many hours scanning and converting  the 70 plus pages to share, but I am not going to do anything to entice other people to steal it and sell it .
