I'm a overall gear-head by nature. I've also been enjoying my sewing hobby for many decades.
This love of sewing, appreciation of well designed and quality built machines along with my proverbial desire to tinker, have lead me to own, refurbish, use, ENJOY and share vintage
sewing machines.
I am located in Northern Ohio, and when I'm not sewing or wrenching on sewing machines, I enjoy riding my Harley & spending time with family & friends.
Check it out! My mom has been crocheting her little fingers to the bone. She's been making tote bags out of plastic grocery bags. These things are strong, wear like iron, and get so many compliments! You can even wash them by hand and line dry them.
Not only do I use them at the grocery store, but I've been carrying books, magazines, my lunch and a water bottle, etc. around with me at the Cleveland Clinic on many ocaasions recently. Everywhere I go with one of these bags, someone almost always notices and compliments them. You should see the look on their face when they find out that there are made with plastic bags!
My mom altered the original pattern (found on the internet somewhere) to make the bags larger. As you can see from the photos, the bag wasn't near full and it had quite a bit of stuff jammed in there. The large bottle of sauce and the bottle of wine weren't the least bit too heavy for the bag, and the thicker straps make them comfortable to carry.
I did crochet one, but it took me forever. I'll stick to sewing.
