I'm a overall gear-head by nature. I've also been enjoying my sewing hobby for many decades.
This love of sewing, appreciation of well designed and quality built machines along with my proverbial desire to tinker, have lead me to own, refurbish, use, ENJOY and share vintage
sewing machines.
I am located in Northern Ohio, and when I'm not sewing or wrenching on sewing machines, I enjoy riding my Harley & spending time with family & friends.

Cabinets and Treadle Base- Fresh Arrivals!

This is my "new to me" treadle base. It's a Singer "number 5", seven drawer treadle cabinet. Isn't she "purdy"! My 201-3 is going to live there just as soon as the treadle belt I ordered arrives, and I get it installed.
It was missing a wheel, but I was able to fashion a suitable replacement for now. It's definitely not pristine, but I love the patina, and for me it's perfect!

I also got in two, "fresh", Singer electric sewing machine cabinets. Both of them are the "no. 40" style. One is in the mahogany finish with a match stool, and the other is just the cabinet in the walnut finish. (update- these cabinets are sold)

Robin, You can stop by anytime! - just don't expect to be buying a treadle base from me!
Those buggers are just toooo heavy for me to deal with on a regular basis. There is no way I could have loaded it in my car or gotten it into the house without some significant help.

I have been following Sew Classic since CJ got her machine and cabinet from you. I am definitely in the market for "an oldie but goodie" and am patiently waiting to view the next one you have for sale. I hope to be your next customer. Please don't hesitate to email me when you have one available at sc@.....com. I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, I love treadles as well. One day, when I least expect it, I'll come across one and it will find it's resting place in my home.
Your work is absolutely wonderful. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Truth be told, I've been selling machines even before I get a chance to advertise them. Until I catch-up on back orders I won't be able to service and advertise any machines. I'll drop you a line. In the mean time, give some thought to the features you want or if you want a particular make and model.

HA! The one on the right, with the stool, is the same one I have with my 201-2 inside. Right down the stool cover! I've been thinking about recovering this in something more comfortable than 1950's Oil Skin, but haven't done so yet. Just gave me a hoot to see this pop up on my screen.

I have been looking for something like this. Although, most of them with 5 or 7 cabinets seem to be quite expensive, this looks classy compact and quite good.

In your blog you mention a "type 5" and a "type 40" Singer cabinet. Where can I find out more specific information about the various types of Singer cabinets? I have found some information about Singer cabinets but nothing concise. Thank you, Shawn
